Catharsis

[20:55] Today is finally coming to an end – what a day!

"Horrible" is the euphemism I am using to express the moments of anguish the whole family has had to go through, unfortunately.

One loved one suffered a sudden illness that forced them to be hospitalised. We remain hopeful that everything will work out for the best. Another had a fall; thankfully it was nothing serious, but events like this can have catastrophic consequences for our wonderful, elderly relatives (92). :)

Writing is my catharsis. It soothes my nervous system as I release the tension stored within my body, mind, and soul, brought on by these challenging times.

Honestly, though, today reminded me yet again how important it is to show kindness and appreciation to the people we care about.

That should be the real catharsis!

After all this writing and spending the entire day waiting for news from the hospital, I still have to go back and read at least 22 pages for tomorrow's class!

What a day!

(I have to read the short story José Matias by Eça de Queiroz. It's a tale of extreme, anachronistic platonic love, with the central theme focusing on the rejection of physical love in favour of an idealised spiritual love.)

Not my thing... 😉
